UK to consider withdrawal from ECT if reform fails

The United Kingdom—a major ECT contracting state outside of the EUindicated on September 1 that it would consider withdrawing from the ECT if the treaty’s signatories fail to agree on a reform this year. This is the first signal from the British government that it no longer rules out such a withdrawal.
